Stream It From The Mountain: mewithoutYou – “Pale Horses”
mewithoutYou, the Philadelphia-based post-hardcore art-punk
band recently released Pale Horses, their
highly-anticipated sixth album and debut for new label, Run For Cover
Records. Produced by Will Yip (Title
Fight, Circa Survive) the new album perfectly captures what the band of 15
years does best - alternating between explosively intense moments of cathartic triumph
with spiraling guitar melodies and quieter, more intricate and introspective arrangements
with poetically spiritual lyrical themes in frontman Aaron Weiss’ distinct vocal
cadence.
Standouts track on the album include the shape-shifting,
hymn-reciting “Watermelon Ascot”, the pretty opening title track, “Pale Horse”
and the standout single, “D-Minor” with its galloping rhythm and twinkling
guitar melodies.
