3 Songs: On Repeat

Galactic – “ (Celebrating twenty years together, the veteran New Orleans funk band recently released their new album, Into The Deep, via Provogue Records.  Guest vocalists Macy Gray, JJ Grey and the living legend Mavis Staples contribute their unique assets and match well with the album’s overall soul-drenched sound.) http://galacticfunk.com/

Barna Howard – “Indiana Rose” (Portland singer-songwriter Barna Howard recently released his long-awaited sophomore album, Quite A Feelin’ via Mama Bird Recording Co.  His classic country & western-leaning brand of folk recalls Townes Van Zandt with earnest lyrical sentiments and laid-back instrumental ornamentation that evokes nostalgia for home, wherever that may be or have been.) www.barnahoward.com

Teenage Time Killers – “Barrio” (The much-hyped mega punk/metal supergroup led by Corrosion Of Conformity’s Reed Mullin and My Ruin’s Mick Murphy released their debut album, Greatest Hits Vol. 1 today via Rise Records.  They have recruited an impressive list of contributors including, Dave Grohl to play bass of all things, Jello Biafra, Neil Fallon of Clutch, Matt Skiba of Alkaline Trio, Tommy Victor of Prong, Lee Ving of Fear, Brian Baker of Bad Religion, Phil Rind of Sacred Reich and many others.  With a twenty-song tracklist of mostly originals and a couple of covers performed by such a diverse set of musicians, though likeminded in many ways, don’t expect much cohesion but each member brings the spirit and essence of their parent band to each individual track.) https://www.facebook.com/TeenageTimeKillers
