3 Songs: On Repeat – Extended Edition

As Cities Burn – “Chains” (The Louisiana-based progressive post-hardcore band returns after a ten year hiatus with a stunning new album, Scream Through The Walls, out today on Equal Vision Records.  The Bonnette brothers reunite for the first time since their 2005 debut and the result is as anthemic and frenetic as you would expect with new experimental elements and the perfect balance of melody and aggression.  Catch them on tour in support of the new album this summer.)  http://www.equalvision.com/releases/scream-through-the-walls/

The Aggrolites – “Groove Them Move Them” (The recently released REGGAE NOW!, is The Aggrolites’ long-awaited sixth full-length and debut for their new label home, Pirates Press Records.  Following a six year hiatus, the “dirty reggae” crew led by vocalist Jesse Wagner and organist Roger Rivas bring a punk-inspired garage-band’s mentality to their trademark brand of retro-minded reggae that incorporates elements of Motown and funk as well.  The new album does not disappoint with gritty bangers, danceable instrumentals and a sly sense of humor.) https://shop.piratespressrecords.com/pages/the-aggrolites

Big Thief – “Cattails” (The Brooklyn quartet consisting of Adrianne Lenker, Buck Meek, Max Oleartchik and James Krivchenia recently released their highly-anticipated third album and first for their new label, 4AD, titled,  U.F.O.F. The new album – easily their best effort yet - marries hushed folk rock and atmospheric dream-pop, turning it into something hypnotic and built for quiet moments.  They may have titled their debut album, Masterpiece, and it lived up to the title but the third time’s the charm for Big Thief.) https://4ad.com/artists/bigthief

Amyl and The Sniffers – “Monsoon Rock” (The Australian garage-punk band led by the fierce and fiery vocalist Amy Taylor recently released their self-titled debut album via ATO Records.  The promising debut is a fun, punk-informed blast of nostalgic rock and roll complete with ripping guitars solos, shout-along refrains, mullets and explosive energy.  It is quite the debut and the perfect soundtrack to a summer filled with long nights and bad decisions!)   https://amylandthesniffers.bandcamp.com/album/amyl-and-the-sniffers

Morrissey –  “Only A Pawn In their Game” (British alt-pop pioneer, Morrissey may be making more headlines now for his polarizing political views but his inimitable and seemingly ageless voice is still as smooth as ever.  The proof is in his latest album, California Son - out now on Étienne Records/BMG – a covers compilation of some of Moz’s favorite 60’s and 70’s songs.  The 80’s legend puts his unique spin on songs that he grew up listening to from Bob Dylan, Joni Mitchell, Carly Simon, The Fifth Dimension, Gary Puckett and more.  In the studio, he is assisted by a host of guests including, Petra Haden, Ed Droste of Grizzly Bear, Sameer Gadhia of Young The Giant and Green Day’s Billie Joe Armstrong.  Be sure to catch Morrissey on tour this summer with openers, Interpol.  Check out the Bob Dylan cover featuring Petra Haden here.) https://morrissey.lnk.to/sonID
