Stream It From The Mountain: Harvey Pekar - Paris Green

Cleveland post-hardcore band Harvey Pekar released their third album, Paris Green, last week via Steadfast Records.  On the new seven-song album - produced and engineered by Ryan Foltz at Cleveland Audio (Dropkick Murphy’s, Rancid) - the quartet continues to defy perceived genre limitations by adding in elements of expansive prog-rock and atmospheric post-rock to their hardcore punk sound.  They also stand out with their vivid, thought-provoking lyrics; the album follows a sci-fi inspired concept.  Standouts include, the single and closing track, “Forever The Follow” with its tumbling bass-led groove and chaotic churn, and “Drag Hesitations” with its surging rhythm, dynamic shifts and melodic sing-along moments.

Paris Green is out tomorrow on Steadfast Records digitally, on CD, cassette, and in three 150g vinyl variants: “Paris Green”; an opaque antifreeze green, “Blue Ensemble”; a coke bottle clear with blue swirl, and classic black.
