3 Songs: On Repeat
Manray
– “Time Sutures” (Today marks the release of the emerging Dayton blues-rock
trio’s sophomore album, Classic Jurassic.
Their groove-heavy garage-rock sound blends jammy psychedelic passages
and bluesy classic rock riffs with catchy hooks and elements of 90’s indie
guitar-rock that sounds both retro and modern all at once. If you are in the Dayton area, be sure to
check out their album release show tonight at Blind Bob’s.) http://daytonmanray.bandcamp.com/album/classic-jurassic

Strife – “Incision” (After their triumphant rebirth in 2012, the Los Angeles 90’s hardcore vets return with a new EP, Incision, out today via guitarist Andrew Kline’s own WAR Records. The 4-song EP was produced by Nick Jett of Terror and ex-Sepultura drummer Iggor Cavalera returns alongside guest spots from ex-Integrity guitarist Aaron Melnick and Ringworm’s Human Furnace. Their unflinching brand of metallic hardcore helped shape the scene in the 90’s and influenced countless bands after them and this new EP is a throwback to that seminal sound with some modern elements and a renewed sense of purpose that is palpable.) http://www.war-rec.com/

Human Furnace and an incendiary lead from Aaron Melnick here (via Noisey):
P.O.D. – “The Awakening” (Last week the SoCal alt-metal mainstays released their ninth album, The Awakening via T-Boy/UMC. Produced again by longtime collaborator Howard Benson, the concept album follows a “prodigal son”-like main character through his good and bad decisions along with all of the consequences but musically, it is just as anthemic and uplifting as their Grammy-nominated music has always been. Guests include vocalists Maria Brink of In This Moment and Lou Koller of Sick Of It All.) http://payableondeath.com/
