REISSUE: Hawthorne Heights – The Silence In Black And White (20th Anniversary)
Dayton, OH based emo band Hawthorne Heights celebrate the 20th
anniversary of their landmark debut album, The
Silence In Black And White, with a new limited edition vinyl pressing, out
now on Craft Recordings. The 2-LP set is
presented in a gatefold jacket with alternate artwork, tons of photos and
expanded liner notes, including a reflective essay written by the band. The original album comprises the first two
sides and sides C and D feature early demos and live acoustic versions of album
tracks.
Hawthorne Heights hit the scene running with the release of The Silence In Black And White in 2004
with instant hit singles; the ultimate emo-anthem “Ohio Is For Lovers”, the
equally anthemic and passionate “Niki FM” and the surging “Silver Bullet”. In the years since, the band has carried the
torch for “emo”, acting as ambassadors for the music scene; continuing to
release amazing music and having curated the annual music festival, Emo Is For
Lovers.
This 20th anniversary edition of The Silence In Black And White is a testament
to the DIY attitude that has been at the heart of Hawthorne Heights since the
beginning and a landmark for future emo-punk generations.
