REISSUE: U2 – Pop, All That You Can’t Leave Behind and Wide Awake In America

After celebrating the 30 year anniversary of The Joshua Tree last year with a massive tour and deluxe reissue of their masterpiece; the Irish rock titans U2 continue their reissue campaign with the release of three more albums on vinyl.  Out now on UMC/Island/Interscope are reissues of their 1997 album, Pop, 2000’s All That You Can’t Leave Behind and the 1985 EP, Wide Awake In America.   Each album has been remastered and pressed onto 180g black vinyl and includes a download card.
The fan favorite four-song Wide Awake In America EP, originally released in 1985, has long been out of print.  The EP features live performances of “A Sort Of Homecoming” and “Bad” recorded in the UK during The Unforgettable Fire tour in late 1984 as well as two B-sides from The Unforgettable Fire era: “The Three Sunrises” and “Love Comes Tumbling”.
March of 2018 marks the 21st anniversary of their ninth album, Pop, which was highlighted by the singles “Discothèque”, “Staring At The Sun”, “Last Night On Earth”, “Please, If God Will Send His Angels” and “Mofo”.  The album spawned their most ambitious and lavish tour and featured a sound that experimented with electronics and the notion of what “pop music” is and can be.
In 2000, U2 released their tenth studio album All That You Can’t Leave Behind. The album, led by singles “Beautiful Day” and “Walk On”, and produced by Daniel Lanois and Brian Eno was a return to their anthemic, arena-rock sound that earned the band Grammys and adoration from fans and critics alike.  This new remastered reissue also includes a 16-page booklet featuring lyrics and photography by Anton Corbijn.
