SHOW REVIEW: Mates Of State at A&R Music Bar in Columbus 7/16/24

Indie-pop darlings Mates of State recently embarked on their ambitious – 17 shows in 17 days – Still The One Tour; their first in over 5 years.  Kori and Jason played an engaging and entertaining show at the A&R Music Bar in Columbus last night along with folk-pop opener, Al Menne.

The duo’s classics-heavy, catalog-spanning set list had the crowd singing along to every word.  Standouts included, “Like U Crazy”, “Proofs”, “Whiner’s Bio”, “Ha Ha”, “Goods (All In Your Head)” and “Get Better”. They also introduced a new song, tentatively titled, “Somewhere”; to which Kori exclaimed, “Coming to a Spotify playlist near you soon”.  They also performed “Staring Contest” for the first time this tour.
