We Came As Romans - "To Plant A Seed"

After a successful self-released EP and tireless touring and self-promotion, We Came As Romans are ready to spread the love on their debut full-length, To Plant A Seed released Nov. 3rd on Equal Vision Records. They have created a melodic metal sound interlaced with orchestral moments and bruising breakdowns along with a singing/screaming two-vocalist approach. Their lyrics reflect themes of love, compassion and brotherhood for a positive message that is a welcome change to the genre.

Album opener “To Plant A Seed” delivers a knockout blow from the start with a crushing breakdown in the first 30 seconds and mixes in some poppy programming on the chorus and gang vocals as a strong statement for what is to come. “Broken Statues” features glitchy electronics intertwined with intricate guitars and a catchy chorus. “Intentions” has a marching symphonic breakdown that gives the song as well as the album an epic, full sound and the same can be said for the programmed strings and auto-tuned vocals on “Roads That Don’t End And Views That Never Cease”. The brutal heaviness of “I Will Not Reap Destruction” is also a standout track on an album that is all killer and no filler.

The album also features stunning artwork by Paul Romano who has designed artwork for Mastodon and Chiodos and flawless production from Joey Sturgis (The Devil Wears Prada, Emarosa). Their energetic live show is not to be missed as the passion displayed in their lyrics comes out in their live performance as well.
