Website of the Week

Amiestreet is a new service for finding and downloading music, like eMusic or iTunes.
The difference is that each song starts out free. That's right, FREE! Then as the song gains in popularity, the price goes up to a max of 98 cents. They want to start a community for music fans to download and discuss songs. One way to do that is to make a recommendation of a song for the Amiestreet public to read, and if they buy the song, and if the price increases, you are rewarded that in credit to buy more songs. And all of the mp3s are compatible with iPod and are DRM free. So it's pretty much great all around!
Last week they added over 15,000 songs from labels like Matador and Polyvinyl. I think you can get the new Stephen Malkmus and Cat Power albums each for under 10 bucks!

ps: leave your email address in the comment section and I will email you with and invite so you can start out with $5.00 in credit for free!
